The eighteenth Amendment arrived in January 1920. It prohibited the production, sales, and transportation of booze. Notwithstanding the public authority’s endeavors, liquor abuse raged during the period.
To maintain our ancestor’s demand, smugglers and home brewers made their own liquor. They tried to copy their predecessors, but the addition of methyl alcohol did not help. The bootleggers at that point utilized booze-deprived scientists to “re-nature” the liquor, making it drinkable.
By mid-1927, our already fully corrupt government added even deadlier ingredients such as chloroform, kerosene and a splash of acetone. This made liquor even harder to swallow down. I suspect that this was when Jagermeister became drinkable to the masses. Adding more methyl liquor did not help the situation very much.
NYC’s Chief Medical Examiner at the time, Charles Norris (did they call him Chuck?), attempted to warn the population of the once great city (now a complete shit hole) of the extreme dangers. In 1926, bad booze killed 400. The following year, 700 died from alcohol poisoning. Rookie numbers in comparison to their current Fascist Commander, Nursing Home Nazi Cuomo.
